The people behind the owls, and the masks that came before them.
HooTang Clan is made by the team behind MASKED. Since 2024 we've been running community-first NFT projects on Injective and Ethereum: free mints, self-funded, with every cent in royalties given back to holders. Many of the people who joined us in those early days are still here. HooTang is the next, and final chapter.
Our mission: bring the fun back to NFTs, and use this platform to help people learn about NFTs, tokens and web3 without getting burned. That's why our games let you get rugged with play money, and why we write crypto safety guides in plain English.
The founders
Ginja Ninja
Co-founder. Developer and socials
"I build the site and games, and I'm the one behind the X account spamming raid links at all hours. If something breaks on the site, it was 100% my fault testing on production. I've been in crypto since 2021 (MDX onboarded me and I bought the absolute top), running MASKED since 2024, back when we called ourselves Paradoxx."
"The very definition of a wandering mind. I've been drawing all my life and passed the bug down to my daughter, who actually designed some of our MASKED and HooTang traits herself. Crypto since 2020, running MASKED with Ginj since we came up with the idea over a few beers back in 2024."
Checking a wallet only needs its public address. Nobody, including us, will ever ask you to connect a wallet or share a seed phrase to "verify" anything.
Where the money goes
MASKED royalties: every one of them has been spent on NFTs from fellow collections, sent as discretionary gifts to random holders.
HooTang royalties: we're being upfront about this. After self-funding everything so far, HooTang's royalties will cover our running costs, pay us for our work for the first time, and fund the next things we build for MASKED and HooTang.
The mint: free, like both MASKED collections before it.
What we'll never do
Launch a token. Not now, not ever.
DM you first, or ask you to connect a wallet or share your seed phrase.
Promise returns. NFTs are for fun, community and art, not income.
Hide where the money goes.
Built with our kids
We're both dads of two, and our four kids have shaped HooTang from the very start: judging the artwork, testing the games, and telling us, with brutal honesty, when something wasn't fun. If a game made the cut, it passed their test first.
The core team
None of this works without the people who've been with us since the start. Thank you to:
